University Facts why Lo'au University is the first in Moana

- Lo'au University was appointed by the Board of Founders of CUAM Foundation University at Benevento in Italy in January 2014 as one of the 72 partner universities to run its educational and scientific research programs. 

- Lo'au University is in partnership with CUAM to run a health global project with a budget of $300 millions under the funding programs known as Horizon 2020 by the European Commission.

- Lo'au University is currently recruiting students, lecturers, researchers and staff from different parts of the world to studyng and working in its online educational programs, activities and operation.

- Lo'au University offers scholarships and financial assistance of approx $10 miilions per year to students from around  the world to study for their Proficieny Level One (PLOne)/BA, PLTwo/MA and PLThree/PhD Degrees.

ESTABLISHING A LO'AU UNIVERSITY

Find below the Latest Updates on our Names for the Foundation Committee FC and Master Plan Committee MPC of a proposed Lo'au University (to be established in Tonga and Online).

Sincere thanks to Kalino Latu, 'Ofa-ki-moana Vatikani, Meleseini Kuinivia Pahulu, 'Amelia Kinahoi Siamomua, Viliam Taufa for the interest in joining the movement and contributing to the works of the FC, MPC and the Executive Committee of our Lo'au Research Society (ECLRS).

Valeri Bichard from the ANU is interested in joining the online lecturers with the plan to start in running online courses next year in English, and Fijian if it's needed, after completing her PhD. Valeri and Kirk Huffman are not Tongan but are willing and happy to contribute to the online courses and the future of Lo'au University in Tonga. Kirk is an anthropology on Melanesian and Vanuatu cultures and Valeri is completing her PhD next year on documentary photographer and film maker. 

For our courses online and in Tonga, any person with qualifications and be accepted by our Board of Directors and Board of Studies (when they are up and run) can teach any language.

Thanks as well to Taipe Vave ‘Isitolo and his work mates, and Fofo’anga Kava Club, for furnishing our new office and library at Ma’ananga Residence in Canberra. According to Taipe, they can do the same work to all class rooms and offices at our Lo’au University in Tonga when it’s in action.

Professor Sitaleki is happy to prepare a paper for our July Conference at the University of Sydney on Policy, Accreditation and Contract Guidelines for our upcoming online courses.

The template structure of our website for hyperspace and online courses is in place waiting to be registered and finalized its operation by our Lo'au Executive Committee in the upcoming July Conference at the University of Sydney. Siosiua and 'Ilaiasi are now working on its contents and settings comprising programs for training of the first six lectures, Professor Sitaleki 'Ata'ata Finau, Hufanga Professor 'Okusitini Mahina, Dr Robin Havea, Sione Tu'itahi, Failo Taufa and Sione Akemeihakau Mokofisi.

All are encouraged to register into our Ma'ananga Forum (Yahoo Groups - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LoauRS/) to involve more in daily discussions of different research issues including those regarding the plan for our Lo'au University.
